Size of room…such a fundamental, pivotal, question…yet….
Again, I have no opinion…
So I ask my hero’s, and they ask THEIR heros, and on up…. to consensus….
For the record, my original hero is Christopher Alexander.
His partners/peers wrote a great book Patterns of Home (Mac Jacobson, Murray Silverstein, Barbara Winslow)
And they refer to their hero Palladio…
Does it get any better than this?
Here is their nugget right from their book Patterns of Home, referencing all the way back to Palladio.

“the height never be less than the width…”
so a 10 foot wide room, should have a. 10 foot tall ceiling.. The wider the room, the taller the ceiling…
This is why the 15 foot wall of windows works so well in my house, along the entire back of my 45 foot wide house… The floor IS roughly divided into 3-15 foot rooms, so light pours in perfectly.
